Attractions in Lake Arrowhead

With its sparkling waters in a spectacular mountain wilderness setting, Lake Arrowhead is a popular destination in the San Bernardino Mountains. Attractions can be found both near and far thanks to Lake Arrowhead’s location in a popular tourist area, being about 21 miles west of Big Bear Lake and 8 miles east of Crestline. Thus, one can enjoy many attractions both outdoors and even indoors at various communities and shopping areas that have sprouted around the community.

The Lake

Lake Arrowhead itself has over 14 miles of shoreline that stretches an area of about 782 acres in capacity. With it being approximately 1.5 miles in width, 2.2 miles in length and up to 185 feet deep, its no wonder Lake Arrowhead is a popular location for various boating and water activities. One can enjoy activities such as local events, boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. With many boat docks, launch points and water access all over the lake, it’s easy to get in the waters and have fun.

Camping and Hiking

There are two main campgrounds in the Lake Arrowhead area, one is the Dogwood Campground and the other is the North Shore Campground. Dogwood Campground is 5 minutes away from Lake Arrowhead Village and 15 minutes away from Lake Gregory. This campground was remodeled in 2004 and is complete with modern hook-ups for RV’s, modern restrooms and showers. North Shore Campground is 3 miles from Lake Arrowhead Village and 20 minutes from Lake Gregory complete with boat rental businesses and a water slide park. This campground also has modern restrooms and amenities.

Hiking

Surrounding Lake Arrowhead are numerous hiking trails that lead to the popular Pacific Crest Trail that passes nearby. Spend the day hiking through the mountains and wilderness to get away from it all and experience the refreshing environment. Shopping

Lake Arrowhead Village is the premier and largest shopping destination located at the southern end of Lake Arrowhead. This village is home to over 50 unique shops and restaurants along with being the location of the Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa. Blue Jay Village is also another village located at the westernmost end of Lake Arrowhead with a number of additional shopping, dinning and entertainment options.
